The weather in Austria and Italy is as diverse as the topography.

In Austria, temperatures can range from highs in the 90's in Vienna to lows in the 50's at the convent. We'll also be spending time at elevations where temperatures are always cool. Plan to bring mostly warm-weather clothing, but also pack a jacket and a few warmer items just in case. July and August in Austria can also bring scattered rain showers, so bring an umbrella. The convent is over 100 years old, the floors are wood and tile, and in the evenings it can get a little chilly inside, so take that into consideration when packing.

The climate in Italy is more temperate, as it's a coastal town. The average high temperature in August is 82 degrees, and the average low is 64. However, as with any city near the beach, temperatures can be higher than average. Pack accordingly.
